PACO HEREDIA (Barcelona 1979), is a flamenco guitarist born in Barcelona descended from guitarists. At the age of 3 he starting playing his first guitar and to this day, this gypsy guitarist describes it as "a fundamental part of his life".
Paco Heredia receives a traditional formation from his childhood and guarded by his family, accompanying singing and dancing. At the age of 14, he continued his studies and entered the Liceo de Barcelona where, in the face of the teacher Enrique and Granados, he stands out for his skills and qualification in his discipline.
He compiles his studies with various performances, in the Tablaos of Barcelona and abroad. She has worked in Tarantos, in the Tablao of Carmen Amaya, in tablao Cordobés, in addition to several flamenco Peñas de Cataluña. In spite of his youth this guitarist soon stands out to gather in his touch the glitter at the same time as the purity, legacy of his family inheritance rooted in the most genuine flamenco tradition.
His facet as a composer leads him to musically direct theater plays such as "Bodas de Sangre" by Federico García Lorca, including "Lola Vende cá" by director Llorens Soler.
Constant appearances in television as well as the diffusion of his own works, through Theater or concerts make of this young guitarist a constant of the national flamenco panorama.
It should be noted that due to his merits, Paco Heredia became the Director of the Flamenco Department of La Escuela de Córdoba.
Paco Heredia Torres has worked with Paco de Lucía, Montse Cortés, Guadiana, Duquende, Jorge Pardo, Ginesa Ortega, and La Genára to name just a few... He has toured across Germany, Kuwait, France, Switzerland, Slovenia, and Austria. In 2006 he recorded his first album, produced by "Juan José Suarez" Paquete, winner of the Grammy by Aguadulce de Tomatito, and "Picasso in my eyes".
'Paco Heredia belongs to the pool of flamenco guitarists post Paco de Lucía: he represents that generation of guitarists whose musical grace is both rhythmic and harmonic' (flamenco journalist Ana Sánchez in La2, a Spanish national TV Chanel)
BART STENHOUSE has the muscle to settle any score. Musically speaking, that is. Packing a powerful ability to balance raw edge with feel good grooves, Bart’s music brilliantly blends fiery flamenco with cool jazz and rollicking Indian rhythms to create a sound that leaves the listener energised and ready for more.
Bart started on a musical journey from an early age. However, it wasn’t until recently that he found his true calling – world fusion music. Inspired by his travels across North America, India and Spain, Bart’s music explores the signature harmonies, rhythms and instrumental identities of different world music cultures.
Wielding his weapons of choice, electric and flamenco guitar and electric mandolin, Bart teams up with original artists across the globe to explore and craft soundscapes not heard before. An experienced producer, Bart records and releases his compositions under his own label, Stenhouse Records and in 2014 brought to the world his debut album ‘Blue Benares’. Hailed as ‘one of the best up and coming jazz fusion artists’ by Indian slide guitar maestro and guru Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya at the 2016 India International Guitar Festival, the young Australian composer is fast building a reputation as an original, collaborative and innovative artist.
'Bart is one of the best up and coming jazz fusion artists right now'
— Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya - Grammy Nominated Indian Classical Artist and Director of the India International Guitar Festival

Below is a link to an interview I recently conducted with the Indian journalist and blogger Abhijit Ganguly, from the Bart Stenhouse Group performance at the 2016 India International Guitar Festival a few weeks back. http://kolkatakonnector.blogspot.in/2016/01/music-that-explores-improvisation.html?m=1
There are over a million guitarists in our country with a mix of slide guitar, Rock,Jazz, blues, and song accompanists, yet we proudly present to you the second year of the first ever India International Guitar festival 2016. The festival was conceived by Debashish Bhattacharya who dedicated it to the cause of creating awareness about the slide guitar which migrated to India during the Second World War.
Besides patronizing the slide guitar this unique festival brings to you the finest world music bands and artists from various corners of the world. The festival includes the genres of Island Music from La-reunion, French, Irish-Celtic music, American Blues, Country music, Rock Music, World Fusion Music and Indian Classical Music. Each day of the festival will cater to the listener’s yearning for music that is new and unheard of. The festival promotes active listening, and experiencing world music live right here in Kolkata.
On the day of inauguration we will bring to you a collaboration by Israeli bassist Gal Maestro, Master Suryadipta on slide Guitar, Anandi Bhattacharya from Kolkata and Charu Hariharan from Trivandram followed by a performance of country blues and his own style and set of music called the Acoustronica Blues by Daniel Shane Thomas. The following day hosts the performance of Giuliano Modarelli and his band called the Kefaya, which he conceived with pianist Al MacSween followed by The Bart Stenhouse Band , a Jazz fusion music ensemble. The next day we host the Rock Guitar Night with City's own Amyt Dutta and his group and the Underground Authority. The final day will be an evening of pure classical music concert the maestros Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri and Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya.
Input comments DB : " I've travelled since past few months in villages of Bengal, gave free workshops, free guitars and hand picked talents of slide guitar to nurture further through my IIGF. I'm bringing some finest music unheard live before in India. Over forty years I've taught four generations how to play Ragas on slide guitar. Today I'm opening humbly - a door for my kolkatan audience, please always remember it's not a corporate effort, I'm putting on my own this festival It's a humble effort of an Indian Classical musician to bring the world to Kolkata. Welcome you all, support me, enjoy, relax and start your new year with happiness."
Gal Maestro from Israel a 24 years old western Double bass player says-" I'm very excited from the bond created spiritually and musically through this festival, Debashishji and Tripti ji initiated -is a unique project that fulfill exactly what I feel that is missing today in the conflicting ideologies of the crazy world".
The festival aims to provide support and scholarships for young guitarists.
It aims to create an environment where musicians can grow and be enriched among maestros of music who will undoubtedly impart knowledge and an experience that will be memorable for all those who participate.
The Guitar competitions are another wing of our many facets. The event will be held categorically: there will be prizes for all respective genres.
Your gracious presence, support and blessings at the opening and every day is most important.
At your service
debashish Bhattacharya and
Entire IIGF team.
