“What a fabulous night! Thank you so much! Your beautiful music and presence filled our heart and souls with lovely energy! The guests lingered on for a few hours afterward with you, which is testimonial to their gratitude and delight in every part of the evening. Bart Stenhouse - Flamenco & Jazz for the soul! ”
— Nelle Mawhinney - Friday Creek Bamboo Studio NSW
Bart started on a musical journey from an early age. However, it wasn’t until recently that he found his true calling – world fusion music. Inspired by his travels across North America, India and Spain, Bart’s music explores the signature harmonies, rhythms and instrumental identities of different world music cultures.
Wielding his weapons of choice, electric and flamenco guitar and electric mandolin, Bart teams up with original artists across the globe to explore and craft soundscapes not heard before. An experienced producer, Bart records and releases his compositions under his own label, Stenhouse Records and in 2014 brought to the world his debut album ‘Blue Benares’. Hailed as ‘one of the best up and coming jazz fusion artists’ by Indian slide guitar maestro and guru Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya at the 2016 India International Guitar Festival, the young Australian composer is fast building a reputation as an original, collaborative and innovative artist.

“Many thanks to Bart and Surojato for a wonderful evening at our recent house concert. There were quite a few guests who not only had never heard tabla music - but didn't even know what a tabla was! They came with open minds and were delighted with this new experience. These two talented musicians took us all on a gorgeous journey through a soundscape of music that was both moving and uplifting. The comments from my friends afterwards were so positive - "I could have listened all night" "What superb musicians - how lucky were we!" "Bart and Sur's music took me out of my busy head and reconnected me to my body - I could feel the music, I could feel the horses that Sur talked about in the rhythms and the sounds of the tabla" "I have never seen or heard tabla played like this before - it was phenomenal" "I just loved that flamenco guitar - and I had no idea tabla could work so well with it" "The jazz fusion was my favourite - they created the music right in front of us - and we could share their connection too - so intimate and special"”
— Jane K - House Concert Host Nambucca Heads NSW
